ABOUT
My Approach to Therapy
You are the expert of your life and your experiences. I use a personalized combination of the modalities below to help you achieve your goals. This comprises evidence-based care, an active practice of non-judgment, and compassionate care dedicated to guiding you through your healing process.
I enjoy serving "specific age range" with:
My approach is warm, authentic, and thoughtful. I show up as a human in the room alongside you, and aim to have you feel validated, supported, and well-held. I am very transparent in how I work with you, and take time to explain concepts to support your understanding. My ultimate goal with you is for you to have a positive experience in therapy, and to ultimately increase your insight into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and resource you both internally and externally to increase your capacity to engage in the world in the way you desire. I want you to eventually leave my office to enter into a new chapter of life that feels exciting, even knowing that life will continue to throw challenges your way out the door.
This makes my services ideal for individuals who are new to therapy and want to try it out to understand how it works.
As a white, cisgender & heterosexual woman, I am aware of my power and privilege within the United States, and make efforts to make the therapeutic space feel psychologically safe and welcome to any client who enters my care. My approach is affirming and responsive to people who often feel as though they are living within the margins of society and traditional social norms. I work with neurodivergence. I am affirming of ethical non-monogamous relationships and the varying constellations. I am also affirming of an individual and couples' right to decide if they would like to be child-free.
I strongly value confidentiality, respect, and empathy, ensuring our time together feels safe and non-judgmental for you to explore the helpful and unhelpful patterns of thoughts and feelings and behaviors and the impact it has on your life.
Through a client-centered approach, we strive to create a supportive environment where individuals can gain insight, develop coping strategies, and achieve positive growth and transformation.
On a personal note, I am an avid nature-lover, world-traveler, and animal-enthusiast.
